Meet your celebrant

Oh hey, I’m Jay!

Ready to be your new found bestie in this wild wedding wonderland… precisely who you need to make sure your big day is all about YOU.

A born and bred Geelong and Surf Coast region gal, my heart and home, is in the town of Torquay, with my hubby, two boys and fur-baby by my side, and definitely keeping me on my toes.

A true people person, I have spent many a year working in education. I loved my time in the classroom teaching fresh faced little ones in their primary school years, both nearby home and abroad in Dubai. Stepping into school leadership, I also worked as a coach for my colleagues and supported beautiful families in my role of Assistant Principal.

In recent years, and particularly since becoming Mum to our little guys, I have been turning my skills and talents to other things, and in being a celebrant I have found true love. With my super organised ways, keen eye for detail, flowing creative juices, passion for storytelling, and most of all, my flair for fun and love of all things LOVE, celebrant-ing beside you beautiful lovebirds as you tie that knot has soooo become one of my most favourite things to do!

So here I am… just a girl, standing in front of you lovers, asking them to let me marry you!

Q & A with Jay…

How did you meet your hubby? On a term break while working in Dubai, I was holidaying with friends in Goa in India. An Englishman, he was also travelling with a mate. We met in a quiet beach bar called The Titanic on what was the first night of my trip, and the last night of his. We played cards, went for a late night beach stroll, and the rest, as they say, is history!

Your wedding day highlight… So many! The torrential rain clearing just in the nick of time, the golden hour beach stroll just us two, the bar-top dancing during the wild reception at my parent’s venue. But the day was all about marrying my person, so that in itself has to be the highlight.

What is the best part of a wedding ceremony for you? It’s hard to choose just one, but the elation in the moment I get to pronounce you married and send you on your way back down the aisle with your family and friends cheering you on is pretty darn spesh!

Drink of choice… A mojito. Every. Single Time.

What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done? Picking up my life and moving overseas for a teaching job straight out of uni, not knowing a single soul over there and having never travelled internationally before. Yikes!

Five things to make you happy… Family. Friends. Flowers. Smiling strangers. Weddings.

What is your superpower? The powers vested in me to make you lovebirds married!

What is your guilty pleasure? Without a doubt, reality TV. Give me Love Island, KUWTK, Real Housewives… you name it, I’ll love it.

Post wedding meal… I mean, who isn’t partial to a post wedding Macca’s run?!
